The holidays are a special time, so we are giving away a special prize; a hand crafted piece from designer, Molly Spittal. With an affinity for leather and heavy fabrics, Molly has grown her label, The Stowe, from her signature hand crafted belts, to totes and backpacks. Each one is made by hand and is one of a kind. The piece that we are giving away is her Roll-Top Rucksack and was inspired by the functional Dry-Sac that is used by kayakers. All of her pieces are made with 100% natural leather, natural cotton and brass hardware.
Our friends over at Toywatch have given us a couple of the Jelly watches to put on our readers wrists. With eight different choices for strap colour and nine choices for watch colour, you can create seventy-two different combinations. Just pop the watch right out of the strap to mix and match. What a cool way to spruce up your fall wardrobe without breaking the bank.

Apparently the Swedes are good at a few things: crafting perfect pop songs, furniture you put together yourself and meatballs. They can add making sunglasses to that list with this month’s prize, a pair of WESC shades. The heat is on which means beach days aplenty—what better way to spot your summer crush while you’re catching some rays than through the lenses of a pair of WESCs.
These boots were made for walking. But really now, what else could boots be made for? Preparing an eggs benny with a perfect hollandaise sauce? In all fairness the boots in question are a pair of handcrafted, Driver Red Daytons. With a history dating back to 1946, premium leather Daytons are the go to footwear for any boot enthusiast. Even better, you could have these boots on your feet because we are giving them away!
There are a million benefits to rolling up your sleeves. One of them being that you will be better able to view the new watch you won from the Swatch Colour Codes collection offered as this month’s prize. You can’t wear your iPhone on your wrist, people, and nothing’s more fun than accenting your outfit with a Swatch watch. Like they say, the watch really maketh the man. Swatch watches have been the envy of many for years and the Swiss company has been the best maker of watches for centuries, so stop checking your cell phone and give your wrist a reason to thank you.

So I bought one of those gift cards for the iTunes digital store thinking I’d be able to transfer the credit to my girlfriend in the US on her birthday. Or, if not, I figured I’d at least be able purchase and send songs using the iTunes infrastructure. I don’t use a credit card so I thought this would be an easy way around the problem of getting a gift to her, and also, I could impress her with all the rad songs I would send her without her having to deal with any of the headaches of file upload sites. Long story short, I am now stuck with a $50 credit for the iTunes store that I don’t really need, so if you email me at kellen.wp@gmail.com I will buy the first 50 people “Symphonies” the debut single off this album because it’s great and you should all hear it. It’s like the soundtrack to riding a speedboat powered by unicorns through the rings of saturn to rescue a magical fairy princess. It’s just great.

The prize this issue is the Gracey scarf, courtesy of the “larry.” line by Terri Potratz. These unique pieces will envelop you in warmth and comfort, while striking the delicate chord which lies between old country and modern urban style. Every item is hand knit in Vancouver with BC-sourced alpaca fibre. The fibre travels from a ranch in the Cariboo to a small co-op spinning mill on Salt Spring Island, where it is naturally processed and spun into their trademark bulky yarn. The finished product is every bit a coveted high fashion staple as it is an art piece. www.wearelarry.com

We all have our things that we’re addicted to and at this time of year it’s usually those tri-colour candy corn kernels that start making their way into the stores for Halloween.
