Cassius Returns With Complicated, Interactive Video

Cassius grew out of the 1990s' French touch phenomenon, dwarfed by Daft Punk, equals of Alan Braxe, and adjacent of Air. They were fun and acceptable and probably well loved on Electric Circus. Doing their best to return to be relevant to young people despite their age, they've released an interactive video for "The Missing" created by the group who made that 24 hour video for Pharrell that Ellen viewers seemed to enjoy so much. The video's concept is the same as Bran Van 3000's "Astounded" but you can press a button and switch out who is making out with whom; cycling through all the different gender and race combinations you could possibly want. There are also a troupe of motionless drone women in leotards and a downed helicopter, both of which never get explained and are superfluous to the plot. The entire video is very 2016, in that it seems to be making a political point, but it's not taking any hard enough stance to be provocative. It also is another in a long line of LA-based gimmick videos that most of us hoped would halt with the dumpster fire of Yacht's PR campaign, but as anyone who has been there (and witnessed the fashion sense of the populace) knows, LA is an echochamber of culture, reaffirming herself of dreadful output on a daily basis.
