Song of the Day | GOAT - "I Sing In Silence"

Sweden’s GOAT digitally released their new single “I Sing In Silence” today (7” Out 5/27 on SUB POP) and it’s something new for the “tribal psych” band. Quite the organic affair, GOAT has layered clean guitars, a ton of wood-based percussion, including a super fun guiro, and a healthy dollop of flute, and crafted quite the leisurely summertime stroll.

They’ve said that when they play together they aren’t necessarily writing songs but creating music. “I Sing In Silence” is definitely more of a focused song than the majority of their past releases, and even working in this stricter context the band still seems loose and, dare I say, like they’re having fun. It’s a strong lead off to the start of more new material for the band, one that hopefully sets the tone for future GOAT releases and, if anything, the start of a great Summer 2016 mix tape.
