Video of the Day | Beverly - "South Collins"

From the rapidly diminishing middle class of guitar-based music, we have the latest video by Beverly, a band with consistently impeccable songwriting that would gain more attention if not for the daily bombardment of vaguely grunge-y, sometimes jangly, faux-shoegaze outfits that fill any outlet editor's inbox.

The video clip for "South Collins" off their upcoming full-length The Blue Swell is only one small rung about the obnoxious "Kids Are Having Fun In America, Guys!" video concept that has permeated the online world (due to the concept's ubiquity and lack of plot) for the last several years.

"South Collins" looks like if Tumblr came to life: there are pretty girls, high colours, and nothing happens worth noting. However, the world listens to music more on Youtube than any other platform, so the reason to put this on is to soak up the beautiful song that stands out from all bands who attempt to fit in the same niche. It's no accident that Youtube recommended Slowdive and DIIV songs as the next in the queue, although you might consider just hitting the "reload" button on "South Collins" instead.
