NXNE x ION Showcase 2015

NXNE is in full-swing and we’re back for another showcase at Handlebar this Saturday! We have a great line-up of talented musicians from both the West Coast and the East Coast, and we would love for you to join us for a jam-packed night of good tunes.

This year’s showcase features:

Jaunt 7PM
First up in this showcase, Jaunt, as described by their Facebook page, are just “some guys for now.” Start your night off right with Thomas, Pat, Jacob, Daniel, and Duncan.

Praises 8PM
The music of Jesse Crowe.
(This bio is all mystery and leaves us wanting more.)

Louise Burns 9PM
An ION favourite, everything about Louise Burns is polarizing. 

Wake Island 10PM
An exchange between musicians from Beirut and Montreal, Wake Island brings waves of synths, making moody, spaced-out dance rock. We're into it.

Pet Sun 11PM
A four piece death garage rock band to get you energized for your second wind of the evening.

Neon Wave 12AM
We couldn't find any info on Neon Wave. Basically this just might be the best midnight surprise. 

Ghost Twin 1AM
Dark synthpop with dirty pulsing bass, roaring synthlines, dreamy guitar, and a haunting vocal dichotomy where Baroque meets Industrial. You'll be left wanting more at the end of this showcase.

And while you’re running around from show to show during the festival, check out Handlebar NXNE Greenroom, open daily 2-6pm. Come hang, eat some $3 tacos by Urban Carnivore, drink, chill out, connect to WiFi, and if you need a last minute (free!) practice space, Handlebar’s got you covered. Oh, and there is a sweet set of NXNE inspired Handlebar buttons to collect.
