Grolsch Open House | Akin Collective

Oliver Pauk and Michael Vickers are visual artists who collaborate on management of the Akin Collective studios and also on multiple fine art projects. Oliver’s work mainly involves photographic, installation, and video-based elements, and has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Michael’s addresses the seductive and poetic qualities of form. Recent exhibitions include Push and Pull at Mercer Union (2014) and That Same Small War Within You at Truck Contemporary (2013).

Today’s the day! TIFF has officially begun, folks. Torontonians and visitors alike will be flocking downtown to partake in all this great festival has to offer. The hub of activity will be stretched along King Street W., which has been transformed into a pedestrian promenade featuring curated art works, pop-up performances, food trucks and, yes, the Grolsch Open House.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s back! Grolsch Open House, one of the most talked about destinations at TIFF 2013, is raising the bar this year by spreading the creative spirit all along King Street West! To kick things off, this Thursday, from 6pm to 8pm, the Open House will be featuring live illustrations from a variety of emerging Toronto artists, including the fabulous Zara Diniz.

This drama/thriller follows Brad Lunders, a troubled teen sent to a juve reform facility run by a retired war colonel and a team of alpha males. Lunders, who was forcefully abducted from his home in the middle of the night by his mother's consent is sent to a harsh wilderness reform compound.

Martone Cycling Co. x Hudson's Bay Pop-Up

Where can you get your hands on this beaut of a bike you say? At The Room at Hudson’s Bay pop-up in Toronto and Vancouver! Launched at the end of June, Martone Cycling Co. offers everything a city dweller needs to feel and look good on a performance-driven bike.  Designed in New York, the bikes are made of steel and aluminum, weigh a mere 26 pounds, and come with a built in basket to accommodate the city rider (sold!).

NXNE 2014
