The Rentals | Lost In Alphaville [ALBUM REVIEW]

Are you a teenage lover on the run? Maybe you're trying to recapture some lost youth? I mean, you may be trying to make Face/Off II starring Pickles and Chips (your cat and dog respectively)? I don't know. I'm not a doctor. What I do know however is that this new The Rentals record has the soundtrack to properly fit any crazy scenario you're likely to find yourself in. Matt Sharp is back to deliver more "good thing I'm not in Weezer anymore" indie rock that truly shows what can happen when you still give a shit about what you create. With an all-star new lineup featuring members of Lucius, The Black Keys, The Section Quartet, and Ozma (yes there's still battle scars on all his guitars), it's more akin to a super group; like Tinted Windows, only not terrible. This album truly has everything you could want from a throwback sort of vibe that isn't actually lost in today's music climate. Go and listen. Or go and switch back your animals’ faces. Nutcase.
