Arsenal Montreal Presents: Mark Jenkins

Tonight Arsenal Montreal, as part of their TD Cultural Tuesday program, is presenting a preview of Mark Jenkins’ work before the opening of his exhibition "Remix" on March 11th. The artist will be answering questions about his work, as well as creating a head cast live.

The Arsenal website described Jenkins as "a sculptor and installation artist whose work focuses on a variety of urban and social themes, re-defining the limits of sculpture both in the public sphere, where many of his pieces have been found, to the more intimate realm of the 'White Cube.' His creativity resides within the discomfort generated by the disconnect between public and private spheres, as well as between reality and fiction. Through techniques that he invented and perfected over the past ten years, Jenkins casts life-like figures that are almost always uncomfortable to their viewers either because of their poses, their placement or the way they interact with their environment."

Admission is free from 6PM to 9PM. Arsenal Montreal is located at 2020 William.
