The Gaze | Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre

Established in 1982, Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre is the only artist-run media arts center supporting all forms of media art in Atlantic Canada. Concentrating its efforts in promoting the development of media and contemporary art, the gallery offers exhibitions, artist residencies, screenings, artist talks and lectures, performances and public workshops.

Every year, Struts & Faucet presents a series of five-week artist residencies in which time artists are encouraged to focus on their practice, develop a project or site-specific work and engage with the community in different ways (screenings, talks, workshops, etc.).

Make sure you catch Myriam Jacob-Allard's upcoming residency at the gallery set to run from November 5th, 2016 to December 8th, 2016. Hailing from Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Jacob-Allard currently lives and works in Montreal, but will be in New-Brunswick for her residency in which she will explore the space between the myth of the "The Good Mother" and the daily realities of motherhood. Showing an interdisciplinary approach to her work, expect a project in the lines of performance, video, craft and installation.
