Jenny Lewis Releases New Song

There are a handful of artists that have been putting out top notch quality music for decades now. Jenny Lewis is one of these special artists. The former leader of heartbreaking wunderkinds Rilo Kiley has just released the first single, “Red Bull & Hennessy,” off of her upcoming album On The Line. The track is quintessential Lewis. Coming out the gates with a solid backbeat and wonderfully twinkling piano, “Red Bull & Hennessey” sounds huge. As great as the production on it is, the track really takes flight when Lewis starts singing in her familiar drawl. The whole thing is a real testament to Lewis’s talent. Even though she’s backed by a murderer’s row of veteran musicians, such as Belmont Trench, Jim Keltner, Ringo Starr and Ryan Adams, the song belongs completely to Lewis, and because of this, it’s exciting to see what she has in store for us when the full album drops on March 22nd.
