Battle Of The Bands| POP Montreal

Are you in a band? Do you want to play at POP Montreal? If you answered "yes" to these questions, you still have time to enter the Battle Of The Bands competition for POP Montreal. But not a whole lot. The contest closes August 1st.

The winning band will play two sets during the festival, which runs from September 19 to 23. Up to five members will receive artist passes, round-trip airfare, and four-star hotel accommodations for three nights.

Directed and edited by Sebastian Linda, the video features skateboarders Tom Kleinschmidt, Richard Naumertat, Erik Grob, Octavio Trindade, David Raderecht, as well the filmmaker, Sebastian Linda.

Bored turns Chicago into a board game

The street artist, or collective, that go by the name Bored have found a way to take street art to a whole new level. They have turned the streets of Chicago into a Monopoly board, complete with plywood Chance and Community Chest cards that are bolted together, as well as dice and the little green houses. The idea is to push beyond typical stencil street art and encourage interactivity with passersby.

BASS COAST | Music Festival

This beat heavy dance festival, Bass Coast, is back for its fourth consecutive year. Catch over 100 eclectic local and international artists at the Squamish Valley Campground, including San Fran Dirty Bird legends Justin and Christian Martin, deep bass favourites Sepalcure and the Machine Drum and the funk-tastic Fort Know Five vs. Thunderball.

Vancouver songwriter Christopher Smith has announced his sophomore full-length, Earning Keep, the follow up to his 2010 debut, The Beckon Call. The song "Pillars and Pyre" is the first single off of the album and we are very proud to have the Canadian exclusive of the video. Earning Keep finds Smith expanding upon his musical palette with more diverse instrumentation and expansive atmospherics.
