Parkdale is getting props these days. And not just of the hip hop kind. Actual props.
Joining the renaissance of this Toronto suburb is Community 54, a neighbourhood lifestyle boutique, specialising in creative nostalgia. It wipes the dust off and breathes fresh life into everything from long forgotten arcade and pinball games to mannequins and antiques. Born out of a New York ‘movement’, this is the second store in the Community family. It specialises in all things vintage, hand picked collectible men’s clothing as well as a bunch of new indie brands, with a ‘local shop’ section showcasing up and coming designers from the area. Don’t dismiss it as just an old curiosity shop though as contemporary art is also its thang, doubling as a curated gallery full of local talent. We so wanna check it out!
