Lovelace

Lovelace is a true story of fame, abuse and betrayal set against the sexual revolution of the 1970s. Starring Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace—who does a brilliant job, by the waythe film tells the story of Linda's life from living at home with a domineering religious mother (Sharon Stone); then breaking away from her by falling into the hands of charismatic hustler Chuck Traynor, played by Peter Sarsgaard.

What Linda thought was discovering her freedom and the highlife when marrying Traynor, was actually the opposite when her husband took over her life and coaxed her into doing sexual acts and porn. Starring in Deep Throat—the first scripted pornographic theatrical feature film, featuring a story, some jokes, and an unknown actress—at the age of 22, Linda Lovelace became a worldwide porn superstar—"less centerfold fantasy than a charming girl-next-door with an impressive capacity for fellatio." Fully inhabiting her new identity, Linda became a poster girl for sexual freedom and uninhibited hedonism. Six years later she presented another, utterly contradictory, narrative to the world—and herself—as the survivor of a far darker story, which Lovelace depicts in this docudrama.
