Artist, Ai Weiwei has released "Dumbass," his first single from his forthcoming album, The Divine Comedy—a rock album inspired by the 81-day incarceration in a Chinese prison that shot Ai Weiwei to international fame .
The song is explicit with lyrics that translate to "Stand on the frontline like a dumbass, in a country that puts out like a hooker," and "Fuck forgiveness, tolerance be damned, to hell with manners, the low-life's invincible."
The video was filmed in Ai Weiwei's studio with cinematographer, Christopher Doyle. The idea behind the 5-minute music video is stated as "to recreate, to a high level of accuracy, the prison cell where he was held, down to the uncomfortable shower scenes," with other scenes reportedly artistic interpretations.
