Hanni El Khatib | Head In The Dirt [REVIEW]

Sometimes when you get albums to review, they send you a download link for the album and you can have it and load it up in your iTunes. It's a nice little bonus to have after the review is done. It's a treat. When I got sent Hanni El Khatib's Head In The Dirt, it was a streaming link. No download... Normally I wouldn't make a fuss about that but I want this album so bad. Fuck you Hanni El Khatib's publicists. You win. I'm sold. I'll buy this album, and you can forgive me for cursing you because that's a pretty ringing endorsement. I'm not going to try to describe the music too much; but this is warm weather, laid back, and I want to say maybe "surf rock" music with just enough attitude to be fun and energetic, but not so much that it's irritating. You can figure out everything you need to know about Hanni El Khatib by watching the video for "Family." It has tits, beers, motorcycles, smokes, and guns. What else do you need? The last song on the album, "House on Fire" is my favourite.
